Aunt Karen's Apple Dip

My Aunt Karen served this dip at a picnic a long time ago.  It's now one of my husband's favorite treats.  I'm sure I've made changes to this recipe over this years, but I don't know what they would be at this point.  This is a great after school treat for the kids and is also wonderful for picnics and adult get-togethers.

 I'm using Galas here, but Delicious Golden and Red are a nice combination for a platter (Especially at Christmas) - I've also used Honey Crisps.  Just wash the apple skins with a vegetable wash, core and section the apples into bite size pieces, and store in a zip bag with some orange juice to keep them from turning brown.  I wouldn't leave them for longer than an hour before serving. 

Apple Dip

A Serving of Caramel Apple Dip with Apple Slices

 The Recipe -

 1 - 8 oz. block of Philadelphia Cream Cheese - room temperature

1/3 Cup Brown Sugar

A Couple Pinches of Kosher Salt

1 - Tsp. Pure Vanilla Extract

1/2 Cup Toasted Chopped Nuts - Pecans or Walnuts

Mix everything together and refrigerate until you're ready to serve.
